Joint Letter - ETA Enforcement Delay Request
UK immigration policy is changing. As of 25 February 2026, all British citizens travelling to the UK must enter on a UK passport. British in Europe (BiE) knows this will create problems for dual UK citizens who do not have a British passport and who may not even know about this policy change.
We made representations to the Home Office and civil servants over the last year and we met with them on 30 January. Another meeting is scheduled for 20 February 2026.
In the meantime, partnering with our sister organisation the3million and the Immigration Law Practitioners Association (ILPA) in the UK, we sent a letter to Home Office minister Mike Tapp. In it, we set out the practical difficulties this new policy will cause for some dual citizens. We are asking to delay the implementation.
Read the letter here and, if you are affected, write to your MP.
